Build-A-Band Music Education was formed to make a difference by sharing the gift of music through teaching, performing and recording music. Respecting each other, teaching Cooperation, and with Integrity to do our best!

The Build-A-Band music program, developed by Lisa Wolfe, is based on the  "Differentiated Learning Style" of teaching. Students work on skills independently and at their own pace in each of the four Music Centers. The centers include: Guitar Center, Piano Keyboard Center, Violin Center and Music Vocabulary Center. 

Students receive an introduction to piano keyboard, guitar, violin, bass, voice, drums and music vocabulary. "Music Centers Contracts" list the skills and objectives for each of the music centers. Students practice the skills needed to become proficient on the instrument at the music center.   

Each or class chooses a song to learn and perform in a concert. Students learn skills to work together as a band, start a song, listen to others, negotiate & compromise, arrange music, be appropriate with language & issues when choosing a song. Students develop a sense of accomplishment from learning a song and performing it together as a band in a concert.
