Newest Children's Lending Library Installed
May 24, 2018
The latest PULL station was installed by Bob Beggs, executive director of Good Works Inc., and was financed through a grant from the Coatesville Rotary Club. Students at the Brandywine School of Early Learning in Thorndale held a book drive during Children's Book Week, April 30 to May 7.

Pop-Up Lending Libraries Offer Free Books To Children

The Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH) initiative recently planted its newest Pop-Up Lending Library (PULL) station at the Bridge Academy, 570 Olive St., Coatesville. Each station, which is filled with new and gently used children's books, includes a placard that reads, "Take a Book, Read a Book, Leave a Book."

Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH) will be hosting Jayne Thompson and Christopher R. Murray for an evening of sharing letters from the book “Letters To My Younger Self” at the Lincoln University Coatesville Campus at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The evening will also include an opportunity for community dialogue on the topic of transforming the criminal justice system into a ‘restorative justice system’ and dismantling the ‘school-to-prison pipeline.’

Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH) held a celebration at the Lincoln University Coatesville Campus on the evening of Nov. 19 to unveil nine Pop Up Lending Libraries (PULL) Stations that were painted by students in the Coatesville Area School District.

Daily Local News: West Chester Senior Center Members Share Memories

Members of the West Chester Area Senior Center participated in Spaces Between Your Fingers postcard event. Jan Michener from Arts Holding Hands and Hearts coordinated the event. Seniors were invited to share a memory and write in each finger on the postcard. The postcards will be archived and placed in a vault at the Free Library of Philadelphia.
Southern Chester County News: Kennett Senior Center Gets Arts Grant

The Kennett Area Senior Center recently received a Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts grant in the amount of $2,562 to support their Living History Story Telling Project. The Living History Storytelling Project is a reminiscence theatre program that helps seniors revive their memories while strengthening them mentally and physically, developing their coping skills and building friendships. The program was created and is run by Jan Michener, a professional actress, teacher and director with a degree in theater and a master's degree in education.
