Take a Deep Breath

I got up early,

Got dressed, hair, and make-up.

Walked out the door,

Took a deep breath

And smiled

And kept my head up.

That day was the first day

I realized I didn’t look back

I looked forwards.

That same night,

I said to myself,

Take a deep breath,

Pick yourself up,

Dust yourself off

And start all over again.

As I slowly fell asleep,

I knew it was going to be different.
